Alisa Lynn Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

You found the blog!  Basically, this is the place to learn about me and the ever changing, busy, little world that I live in.  Thanks so much for taking time to read and to look at images! Please feel free to comment on anything you like or have questions about.  I love comments!  It helps me know that you were here and hopefully liked hanging around!

So, a little about me....

For one of the most frequently asked question, Yes, Lynn is my last name.  I am a wedding photographer from central Alabama.  Our studio is actually located in Clanton, AL and joins Corner Park.  If you have ever been through the heart of downtown Clanton and ventured down Main Street, chances are you passed the area where our studio is located. Clanton is a warm, welcoming town with much history and displays a preserved home-town feel.  I am born and raised here and although I love to travel, I still love the many great aspects of living here.  Most of my weekends are spent photographing weddings throughout the Southeast.  In addition to my life as a photographer, I am married to a wonderful husband and together we have 3 pretty awesome girls- if I must say so myself.  From time to time you will see photos of them shared on the blog as well.  The blog is a continuous work in progress so feel free to subscribe or check back frequently for updates!  Thanks for visiting!

Brook and Neil- Married!!

Brook and Neil are two of the most genuine people I have ever met.  Their sweet spirits are evident in how they are with each other and with everyone around them.   What began as a friendship for them in college 11 years ago, came full circle with a reconnection of pure wedding bliss!  It was so neat to hear their story and to get to know them individually and as a couple.  I couldn’t have had a more perfect wedding to wrap up my 2009 year.  It was a cold day but full of blue skies and lots of laughs.  Their ceremony was held at Samford University’s Reid Chapel .  The reception was held at the fabulous venue, The Club.   Hope you enjoy the photos I chose to share!  Congratulations Brook and Neil and a big thank you to my friend Jessica Wright for second shooting!

These are always some of my favorite moments! I can only imagine the anticipation and how their heart is probably about to beat out of their chest! That feeling of both nervousness and excitement that you never forget.

It was Neil's job to keep Brook warm. I don't think too many people would have a problem with all the cuddling that requires =)

Hayley and Charlie-Montgomery, AL

Hayley and Charlie’s engagement session is probably one of the most fun that I have ever photographed!  The day we had scheduled ended up a little cold, damp and windy but never the less Hayley and Charlie were incredible!  While I was looking like Rudolph with a cold, red nose, Hayley and Charlie looked amazing the entire time-I’m going to have to ask the secret to that one!  I couldn’t be happier with them or their session!  I can hardly wait until Hayley’s bridal session this spring and their summer wedding at The Oaks Plantation in June!  I have wanted to photograph a wedding at the Oaks for a while, so I was excited when Hayley contacted me and told me they would be getting married there!  In fact, I did a little happy hand clap when she booked! =)  Everything I have seen there has been beautiful and I can only imagine how beautiful this wedding will be!  YAY!!!

Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session-

Also, part of Hayley and Charlie’s session was photographed in Montgomery, AL and right down the street from Alley Station, one Montgomery’s new event venues.  If you are planning a Montgomery area wedding, it looks like an incredible venue, so check it out!

Jessica and Kristopher- St. Mary’s Wedding!

This post will definitely have a lot of photos to share.  Jessica and Kristopher were an incredible couple who I loved photographing.  Everyone in their wedding was so nice and so much fun!  Who knew so many doctors in one place could have such a great time ;)   Their wedding was held at the beautiful St. Mary’s on the Highland and their night reception was at The Summit Club.  I had so many candids from all of the fun at the reception that I had a hard time deciding which ones to post.  Hope you enjoy the ones below-

Autumn and Brian- Matthews Manor Wedding!

Although Autumn and I had talked on the phone and over email, I hadn’t had a chance to meet her or Brian in person.  I was excited to get to meet them and  get to know them a little better.  Their wedding was held at Matthews Manor in Springville, AL.  They chose to have a night ceremony with very soft lighting.  Everything was coordinated perfectly by Jenny Springer of Premiere Weddings and Events.   Two very important important members of their wedding party included their sweet little shelties who each sported their very own tux.  While being around Autumn and Brian for several hours on their wedding day, I came to realize that not only are they both strikingly beautiful people but they are incredibly fun as well.  In fact, at the reception, Autumn surprised me as she made her way to the stage and told me to grab some photos of what she was about to do.   Without any hesitation, she candidly sang her heart out to the one and only “Ice Ice Baby”!  It was great!  I had a lot of fun being a part of their wedding and am thankful that I was able to share in their time.  Here are a few favorites

Erin and Austin- Matthew’s Manor

Erin and Austin were such a delight to photograph.  They are both easy going and as genuinely wonderful as any two people  you will ever meet.  Their wedding was held at the beautiful Matthew’s Manor in Springville, Alabama.  Their colors and details were some of my favorites for an autumn wedding.  Not to mention, their ceremony timing could not have been more perfect.  The almost sunset time set the perfect soft lighting for some beautiful photos throughout the day.  There are so many favorites, I had a hard time choosing what to share.  I hope you enjoy these and congratulations Erin and Austin!

Anna and Joel- Asbury Methodist!

One thing I can say about Anna is that she has the best shoes!  One of my favorite things is when a bride decides to have fun with her shoes.  While the traditional white or ivory shoes are nice, it is always great to mix it up a little and make your own statement with something unique and fun.  When I photographed Anna and Joel’s engagement session, Anna also had some very cute polka dot shoes that perfectly complimented her little black dress.  It was great to see some of her fun personality shine through along with her stunning appearance.  Joel compliments her fun personality perfectly.  Together, they are one of so many reasons that make me love my  job.   Their wedding day was beautiful.  It was  filled with bright, sunny skies as we met at Asbury United Methodist for the ceremony .  Their reception took place at the Grandview Marriott and was filled with much fun and dancing.  I couldn’t have enjoyed their wedding more.  Congratulations Anna and Joel!

Marcie and Brad- Aldridge Gardens Wedding

Marcie and I went to high school together.   I was really excited when she contacted me about photographing her wedding.  I hadn’t seen her in years but knew her as being a sweet and beautiful girl and knew her wedding would be great.  Even with a little rain showing up the day of the wedding, Marcie was calm and content.  She seemed to want nothing more than to marry Brad.   I hadn’t met Brad until the day of the wedding.  The groomsmen thought it would be funny to have me meet the wrong guy when I ask for Brad- I must admit it was pretty funny considering they let the joke go on until I was putting on his boutonniere.  Thanks a lot guys, that was a good one and you definitely got me!  So, from now on, I may start asking the bride and groom to submit a photo of themselves just so I will know who I am looking for =)   That was just part of the fun that I got to see with such an awesome wedding party!  Everyone was so great and I am so glad that I got to share and document Marcie and Brad’s wedding.   I enjoyed every minute!  Here are a few favorites…

Welcome Natalee!!!!!

For my past clients that follow the blog, many of you will probably remember Sheri.  Chances are, if I photographed your wedding between 2005-2008, Sheri was with me.  What you may not know, is that she not only assisted me with weddings up until this last year but that she has been one of my very best friends for the past 17 years!  Yes, typing that 17 year part does makes me feel old but I am so thankful and proud that I have always had her there for that many years.  We have been through everything from high school drama to college, marriage, buying houses, starting careers and starting a family.  She has always been the one person I knew that I could count on to be honest and truely be my friend.  She is an incredible person and I am so incredibly blessed to have had her put up with me this long =)  Last June, Sheri was on the other side of the camera as she and wonderful and just as awesome hubby, Nick, had their own wedding.  Then, in January of this year we got the exciting news that Sheri was pregnant!!!  In some ways it seems like it has taken forever for Natalee to get here and in some ways it seems like it went by really fast.  Yesterday, however,  we were definitely on the side that seemed like it took forever.  The anticipation of her arrival started yesterday just before lunch. After many hours of effort, she finally arrived at 2:00 a.m this morning!  Natalee made her entrance with just her new mommy and daddy in the delivery room and everyone else down the hall, eagerly waiting to see her.  I must say that even if I wasn’t partial, I would still have to say that she is one of the cutest little girls I think I have ever seen!  Congratulations Sheri and Nick and to all the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends that are so excited about this sweet bundle of joy.  She is already greatly loved!

What a sweetie! She weighed 8lbs 8oz and was 20 1/2 tall!

Oh my gosh….Please contact me again!!

AAHHH technology- love it until it fails you and then one little glitch can cause all kinds of stress!  As of  late last night, I found out that apparently over at least the past couple of days or maybe even more, that my contact form on my website is not working!  Jenny, from Premiere Weddings, had referred a client to me.  The client had completed the contact form and guess what?? It never appeared in my inbox!  I thought maybe it was just slow coming through but it still wasn’t there this morning.  Apparently my host site is having problems with their contact form.  I have replaced the old contact form with a new one and after a series of testing, it has corrected the issue.  If you have tried to contact me and have not received a response, please contact me again or call me.  I ALWAYS answer inquires, even if I am not available for the date.  I am so sorry if you have tried to contact me through the website and haven’t heard anything!  It is corrected now, so please try again or feel free to call me!

Jaymee and Taylor- Married!!

There is so much that I could say about Jaymee and Taylor’s wedding.  Being able to share and document their relationship and their wedding was great!  They are so incredible with each other and their personalities toward everyone around them radiates their happiness.  I had a blast shooting with them and getting to just hang out, talk and have fun.  The ceremony was held at Decatur Highway Church of Christ and the reception was at one of my favorite locations- B&A Warehouse.  All of the bridesmaids and the groomsmen were great and loved to have fun!  I I LOVE when everyone wants to have a good time and it always makes everything interesting to see what we can all come up with.  For instance, there is a random shot of the guys in an El Comino, which happens to be a favorite of mine.  No, it didn’t belong to anyone in the wedding party, in fact, we don’t know who it belonged to!  It was just parked along the side of the parking lot.  We just couldn’t resist the suggestion of hopping in the back really quickly to take a picture- hoping the whole time that the little prize didn’t have an alarm. =)  Needless to say we were all laughing hoping the owner wasn’t somewhere peaking out a window or about to walk out the door and wonder why everyone is in the back of his car.  We also got some fun shots from the photobooth that was set up at the reception.  This is the only time I have set up a photobooth but loved going through the pictures.  I laughed so hard at so many of them.  There was lots of randomness from the booth but that is the point and it was all fun!  Jaymee and Taylor-I am so glad that I had the priviledge of sharing in your wedding!  I loved every minute and you both are awesome!   Thanks  for choosing me as your wedding photographer!  Also, a big thank you again to Amanda Pair for shooting with me!  If you are looking for family or children’s photography, check out her site- http://amandapair.com
