Laura+Justin=Married!

I have been looking forward to Laura and Justin’s wedding for a while. Laura and Justin are both photographers. As many of you know, Laura has shot with me for almost two years now. During that time, I have heard bits and pieces of all of the details that she and Justin were planning for their wedding. I knew it was going to be great! In fact, it was so great that when I decided to blog, I had over 200 photos tagged. I think I had to narrow down the list at least 3 times to finally decide what to blog.

Laura and Justin were married at The Oaks Plantation in Montgomery, AL. We had a true Alabama summer day with blue skies and just a few clouds that came and went. I had an awesome day with these two and with their friends and family. Congratulations Laura and Justin and a big thank you for choosing me to be a part of your day! Also, a big thanks to Jessica Drosyk for shooting with me!

Christina and Brock- Sneak Peek

Here’s one of the weddings that I am currently working on. Christina had asked earlier in the week if I could give her a sneak peek. How could I not share photos of these two? I have loved working with them and had so much fun at their wedding. I can hardly wait to share more! Also, thanks to Jessica D for second shooting! She captured the 3rd image below that turned out to be one of my many favorites from the day.

It’s Published!!! Southern Living Weddings Magazine!

To say that I was excited to receive an email from Southern Living Weddings Magazine is a little bit of an understatement! In the south, most people could sum it up to ” I was tickled pink.” Well, I guess you could say for my personal feelings, it was that expression times 10! I was probably more of a bright red or “hot pink” color. I’ve known for the past couple of months that Hayley and Charlie’s wedding had been picked to be featured in the Real Weddings section of the magazine and I have been waiting anxiously for the preview. I knew what images I had sent them, but I didn’t know what they had picked or how the layout was put together. Last week, I received an email from the editor with all of the details of the upcoming print release and a photo of the cover. She said that my copy of the magazine was on its way to my P. O. Box. Well, it arrived on Friday! This edition has a ton of ideas, information and photos of real weddings, cakes, details and things that you should consider when planning a wedding. If you are in the midst of planning or if you just like to look, make sure you grab a copy today! I’ve included a photo of the magazine cover below so you will know how to spot it on the shelf! Hayley and Charlie’s wedding is featured on pages 48-51. Be sure to check it out!

Hayley and Charlie- The Oaks Plantation

You may remember Hayley and Charlie from their engagement session last fall. They are two people who love to have fun. Lots of good times, smiles and laughs are always around when you are hanging out with these two. Charlie is a youth minister and Hayley is a teacher. I will have to say, Hayley definitely taught me a lot about fabulous details! Her wedding was full of them! Their wedding and reception was held at the beautiful Oaks Plantation in Montgomery, AL. It was the perfect setting for a beautiful, southern wedding! The Oaks has been added to my list as one of my one of my favorite venues. The house makes for plenty of room for entertaining and the outdoor setting is a reflection of all things that are wonderful about the south. There are huge trees, a long drive, fields that at any given time may be decorated with hay and huge porches and an awesome sunroom on the back. The sun sets on the front of the house, so a late afternoon wedding on the back lawn has beautiful soft light. If you can’t tell, I loved being there for Hayley and Charlie’s wedding! So, after I was reminiscing through photos of past clients, I’ve decided to do this again. About 5 years ago, I had a similar contest and was amazed by the stories that I received. I have decided to do another give away to a deserving couple. So here’s the deal- email me the story of a couple who really deserves free photography for their wedding. If that person is you, then send in your own story! You MUST attach a photo to the email. Send the email to: INFO@alisalynn.com and in the subject please note Wedding Photography Giveaway. Here’s some examples of what I will be looking for-A couple who has a wonderful or unique story or who has overcome great odds. A couple who is truly giving of themselves to others or any couple that stands out for a specific reason. The couple must be getting married somewhere in the US in 2012. If I am already booked for the date, I’m sorry, there is only one of me, so I can only shoot one wedding per day =). The couple must be willing to appear on the blog and have their story on the blog. The winner will receive: -6 hours wedding day coverage -an online gallery, DVD of hi-res images with print release and a $250 print credit.

Please send entries NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 1, 2011 -The top three entries will be posted on the blog. Claire and Will- Mobile Alabama Wedding

It seems that I have spent more and more time in and around Mobile lately. I have completely fell in love with the area. Claire and Will’s wedding was no exception. I don’t think I have ever seen them around each other when they weren’t smiling the entire time. There is no question of whether they make each other happy. I had a blast spending time with them during their engagement session and on their wedding day.

I had a hard time narrowing down Claire’s portraits, so I couldn’t help it- I am sharing quite of few of just her.

I don't really know what the picture on the left side is about, but it brought a lot of laughs!

A big thanks goes to my friend Taylor for photographing the guys at the church. Since Claire and Will chose not to see each other before, I stayed to photograph Claire and the girls and Taylor went to the church to document what was going on there.

Adam and Melissa- Southern House Wedding

I have loved every minute working with Melissa and Adam! Their wedding took place at the beautiful Southern House and Garden. Melissa and Adam are so much fun. I am constantly laughing and having fun when I am around them. I loved every detail of their wedding and only wish that I had more reasons to take more pictures of these two Here are a few favorites from their day.

I am currently editing Melissa and Adam’s wedding images. Melissa is amazingly beautiful. As I was loading the images, this one popped up and I think my heart skipped a beat! I can hardly wait to edit all of them but had to share this one!
