It’s Published!!! Southern Living Weddings Magazine!

To say that I was excited to receive an email from Southern Living Weddings Magazine is a little bit of an understatement! In the south, most people could sum it up to ” I was tickled pink.” Well, I guess you could say for my personal feelings, it was that expression times 10! I was probably more of a bright red or “hot pink” color. I’ve known for the past couple of months that Hayley and Charlie’s wedding had been picked to be featured in the Real Weddings section of the magazine and I have been waiting anxiously for the preview. I knew what images I had sent them, but I didn’t know what they had picked or how the layout was put together. Last week, I received an email from the editor with all of the details of the upcoming print release and a photo of the cover. She said that my copy of the magazine was on its way to my P. O. Box. Well, it arrived on Friday! This edition has a ton of ideas, information and photos of real weddings, cakes, details and things that you should consider when planning a wedding. If you are in the midst of planning or if you just like to look, make sure you grab a copy today! I’ve included a photo of the magazine cover below so you will know how to spot it on the shelf! Hayley and Charlie’s wedding is featured on pages 48-51. Be sure to check it out!

Brook and Neil- Married!!

Brook and Neil are two of the most genuine people I have ever met. Their sweet spirits are evident in how they are with each other and with everyone around them. What began as a friendship for them in college 11 years ago, came full circle with a reconnection of pure wedding bliss! It was so neat to hear their story and to get to know them individually and as a couple. I couldn’t have had a more perfect wedding to wrap up my 2009 year. It was a cold day but full of blue skies and lots of laughs. Their ceremony was held at Samford University’s Reid Chapel . The reception was held at the fabulous venue, The Club. Hope you enjoy the photos I chose to share! Congratulations Brook and Neil and a big thank you to my friend Jessica Wright for second shooting!

These are always some of my favorite moments! I can only imagine the anticipation and how their heart is probably about to beat out of their chest! That feeling of both nervousness and excitement that you never forget.

Neil and Brook were such troopers! They braved the cold for some outside shots on campus. I think they were well worth the effort!

It was Neil's job to keep Brook warm. I don't think too many people would have a problem with all the cuddling that requires =)

Sun flare is usually a preference but for me I like it, so naturally these next two were some of my favorites.

The sun went down and the ceremony started.

As we were exiting the ceremony, I noticed they had lit the Christmas tree in the courtyard. We spent just a few minutes grabbing some photos that turned out to be some favorites of the night!

Jessica and Kristopher- St. Mary’s Wedding!

This post will definitely have a lot of photos to share. Jessica and Kristopher were an incredible couple who I loved photographing. Everyone in their wedding was so nice and so much fun! Who knew so many doctors in one place could have such a great time Their wedding was held at the beautiful St. Mary’s on the Highland and their night reception was at The Summit Club. I had so many candids from all of the fun at the reception that I had a hard time deciding which ones to post. Hope you enjoy the ones below-

I love photos that have back lighting so naturally I loved this one with the sun coming through her veil. This was one of my favorites!

I love this one of Jessica walking to the ceremony.

This is one of Jessica's best friends from high school. We were waiting outside the door of the ceremony and I caught this glance. His look seems so genuinely heart warming.

Photographers aren't allowed in the sanctuary during the ceremony, so I grabbed a few details while we were waiting outside the door.

Anna and Joel- Asbury Methodist!

One thing I can say about Anna is that she has the best shoes! One of my favorite things is when a bride decides to have fun with her shoes. While the traditional white or ivory shoes are nice, it is always great to mix it up a little and make your own statement with something unique and fun. When I photographed Anna and Joel’s engagement session, Anna also had some very cute polka dot shoes that perfectly complimented her little black dress. It was great to see some of her fun personality shine through along with her stunning appearance. Joel compliments her fun personality perfectly. Together, they are one of so many reasons that make me love my job. Their wedding day was beautiful. It was filled with bright, sunny skies as we met at Asbury United Methodist for the ceremony . Their reception took place at the Grandview Marriott and was filled with much fun and dancing. I couldn’t have enjoyed their wedding more. Congratulations Anna and Joel!
